Die AG Papastavrou untersucht Polymerschichten und die Adsorption von Polymeren sowie die Wechselwirkungskräfte in kolloidalen Systemen. Weitere Forschungsgebiete sind instrumentelle Entwicklungen, insbesondere im Bereich der Rastersondenmikroskopie und elektrochemische Systeme in Kombination mit organischen Schichten.
Gegenwärtige Forschungsschwerpunkte sind:
- Polymerschichten:
Polymeradsorption, Stimuli-responsive Schichten, Charakterisierung dünner Polymerschichten, organische Elektretmaterialien - Wechselwirkungskräfte in kolloidalen, polymeren und mesoskopischen Systemen:
Direkte Kraftmessungen zwischen einzelnen Partikeln, heterogene Ladungsverteilungen, sterische Kräfte, elektrokinetische Techniken - Elektrochemie:
Direkte Kraftmessungen auf modifizierten Elektroden, Elektrogelierung, Impedanzspektroskopie, potentialkontrollierte Adsorption, stimuliresponsive Polymerschichten auf Elektroden - Instrumentelle Entwicklung:
Rastersondenmikroskopie, Kombination elektrochemischer Techniken mit AFM, Software - Adhäsion:
Bioadhäsion, multivalente Adhäsion, Haftung von Polymerschichten, Einzelmolekülkraftspektroskopie
